Karen Judkins - is a freelance musician and teacher in the Washington, DC area. She attended Oberlin Conservatory for undergraduate studies and received both MM and DMA degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her teachers include Robert Willoughtby, Samuel Baron, Laurie Sokoloff and Keith Underwood. In 1992 she was awarded a fellowship to the New York Bach Aria Festival. She has been a prize winner in the 1994 and 1996 Flute Society of Washington Young Artist Competitions. In 2002 she was a featured performer in the Great Falls Chamber Music Series. Ms. Judkins is currently a member of the Prince George's Philharmonic. She has also performed with area orchestras including the Fairfax Symphony, Arlington Symphony, Maryland Symphony, Falls Church Chamber Orchestra and the Capital Wind Symphony. Ms. Judkins is an elementary music specialist in the Fairfax County Public Schools.
