
Lora Katz - is a product of the Prince George's County, Maryland public school system. She's played the horn since the seventh grade. She earned an undergraduate degree in Instrumental Music Education at Towson State University, Maryland and a graduate degree in horn performance at Ithaca College, New York.
After earning her degrees, she joined the United States Air Force as a musician. She was stationed at McChord Air Force Base (AFB) Washington State and Robins AFB Georgia. After the excitement of touring the Pacific Northwest and Southeastern United States, she left the military band career field and earned her commission as a Personnel Officer. Currently, she is a Major in the Air Force Reserves and serves as a Communications Officer with the Air Force District of Washington in DC. When not serving in the Reserves, she is a Project Manager with the United States Deptartment of Agriculture, Forest Service.
Today you can also find Lora teaching a few horn lessons. In addition, she performs in the D.C. Metropolitan area as a member of Quintessence, the Prince George's Philharmonic, the Virginia Grand Military Band, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland In Concert (COSMIC), the Annapolis Wind Symphony and various music theater productions.
